Associate Scheduler / Scheduler ( Detroit, MI)
The Select Group is seeking an Associate Scheduler or Scheduler to support project planning and scheduling. This role involves maintaining schedules in Primavera P6, tracking progress, identifying variances, and coordinating with project managers and design teams to keep projects on schedule. The opportunity required the Scheduler to be onsite in Detroit, Michigan, with three days onsite per week.

Education:
Associate Scheduler — meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, business administration, or a related field. No professional-level experience is required. Candidates completing their degree within nine months of expressing interest may be considered; degree verification is required before starting.
- Associate degree in engineering, construction management, business, accounting, math, or a related field, plus at least three years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, business administration, or a related field, plus at least three years of relevant experience.
- Associate degree in engineering, construction management, business, accounting, math, or a related field, plus at least five years of relevant experience.
- Primavera P6 or a similar scheduling tool: Ability to create, update, and track project schedules and identify schedule variances.
- Excel: Proficiency with PivotTables and VLOOKUPs, including manipulating and analyzing financial data extracted from SAP.
- Planning and scheduling: Related experience ideally gained in a utility, telecommunications, or construction environment.
- Critical path analysis: Understanding of activity sequencing, lead and lag time, and baseline schedule variances, with the ability to explain schedule changes and their impact.
- Update project schedules weekly in Primavera P6.
- Attend schedule update meetings with the team responsible for scheduling field resources; prepare schedule updates and document meeting notes.
- Coordinate with the scheduling team to track related schedules and dependencies.
- Attend design meetings and incorporate relevant updates into project schedules.
- Monitor progress against project timelines and communicate delays or deviations to the project team and Project Manager.
- Assess the impact of schedule changes on key performance measures (KPMs), project metrics, and change requests.
- Prepare and present scope, cost, and schedule change requests to management and the Governance Board before applicable KPM thresholds are exceeded.
- Transfer updated schedule data into Maximo and keep the Project Manager informed.
