Intermediate Piping Designer- San Dimas, CA 

We are seeking an Intermediate Piping Designer to support natural gas pipeline, transmission, and facility design projects. This is a hands-on design role requiring experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, piping drawings, 3D models, isometrics, and multidisciplinary engineering packages.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded designer with experience in oil & gas, natural gas, pipeline, or industrial environments. This individual should understand the complete drawing process, possess some knowledge of pipeline work, and be comfortable independently managing assigned design activities while coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on piping design for natural gas pipeline, transmission, and facility projects.
• Develop and modify piping drawings, layouts, and associated engineering deliverables using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Develop and work within 3D piping models.
• Create, interpret, and update piping isometric drawings.
• Understand and support the complete drawing lifecycle from initial design through final engineering deliverables.
• Support aboveground piping, facility, and pipeline-related design activities.
• Apply knowledge of piping systems, materials, components, and equipment to design work.
• Coordinate with pipeline, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and other engineering/design disciplines.
• Incorporate engineering comments and design changes into drawings and models.
• Identify design conflicts and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Manage assigned design responsibilities independently while meeting project schedules and deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 2-10 years of piping design experience.
• Hands-on AutoCAD Plant 3D experience is required. 
• Experience within oil & gas or natural gas industries with knowledge of transmission pipelines required.
• Hands-on experience developing piping drawings and design deliverables.
• Experience developing and working with 3D piping models.
• Experience creating and interpreting piping isometrics.
• Working knowledge of pipeline design and pipeline-related projects.
• Understanding of the complete engineering drawing system and drawing lifecycle.
• Understanding of piping layouts, materials, components, and equipment.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple engineering/design disciplines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned design activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• AVEVA P&ID experience.
• Experience supporting natural gas transmission projects.
• Experience with aboveground pipeline and facility piping.
• Civil 3D experience.
• Utility or energy infrastructure experience.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
