Portfolio Architect – Master Data Management (eCommerce)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite 4 days/week)
Type: 6 month contract, ideally looking to convert FTE.

About the Role
We are seeking a senior-level Portfolio Architect to lead the strategy and execution of enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) across a complex and evolving eCommerce ecosystem.

This role is critical in transforming fragmented data across multiple systems into a unified, scalable, and governed data architecture. You will play a key role in establishing a single source of truth across three core domains: Customer, Product (SKU/Material), and Vendor.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role where you will act as a technical leader and strategic partner—driving architectural decisions while remaining hands-on in execution.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Architecture

  • Define and own the end-to-end MDM architecture across customer, product, and vendor domains
  • Design scalable data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support enterprise-wide data consistency
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, and best practices for master data

Data Unification and Modernization
  • Consolidate fragmented data across multiple systems into a trusted, unified data foundation
  • Lead the modernization of customer data, including enabling a 360-degree customer view
  • Support the retirement and transformation of legacy systems, including SAP CRM environments

Product and Vendor Data Strategy
  • Architect product data solutions across SAP, PIM, and DAM ecosystems
  • Establish consistent and governed vendor master data across platforms
  • Ensure accurate, enriched, and scalable product (SKU) data across systems

Integration and Governance
  • Design integration patterns and workflows across SAP and downstream systems
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and ownership
  • Drive alignment on data standards across business and technical teams

Leadership and Collaboration
  • Act as a senior technical leader influencing architecture decisions across the organization
  • Partner with business, engineering, and data teams to shape the MDM roadmap
  • Provide hands-on guidance across system design, integrations, and data workflows
  • Lead without direct reports, driving alignment through influence and expertise

Required Qualifications
  • 8–12+ years of experience in Master Data Management and/or Data Architecture
  • Strong experience working across multiple data domains (Customer, Product, Vendor)
  • Deep expertise within SAP environments (S/4 HANA, MDG, CRM, etc.)
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), data integration patterns, and governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting eCommerce or retail ecosystems
  • Ability to balance strategy, architecture, and hands-on execution

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms
  • Familiarity with tools such as Interworks or similar PIM/DAM solutions
  • Experience working with Salesforce, particularly for customer data
  • Background in large-scale system consolidation or transformation initiatives

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Additional Details
  • Onsite requirement: 4 days per week in Atlanta, GA
  • Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential
