Sr. RAN Engineer- Remote, Canada
The Select Group is seeking an experienced RAN Engineer to join a national Wireless Network Performance team. You’ll play a key role in optimizing 4G/5G networks, supporting major performance initiatives, and enabling next-generation technologies such as Open RAN.

What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Telecom, Computer, or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in RAN performance engineering or optimization within a telecom operator or vendor environment.
• Strong expertise across 4G and 5G RAN performance, including NSA/SA, VoLTE, VoNR, mobility, signaling analysis, parameter audits, traffic balancing, and SON features.
• Hands-on experience with Samsung RAN equipment: parameters, features, capabilities, and limitations.
• Proficiency with OSS and call-trace tools such as Netscout, ActixOne, or similar platforms.
• Solid understanding of network KPIs, troubleshooting flows, and end-to-end service behavior.

Bonus Experience
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with data science and machine learning techniques — especially anomaly detection and model-driven optimization.
• Experience with crowdsourced data platforms, Netscout analytics, or similar network intelligence tools.
• Data science skills including scripting, statistical analysis, ML pipelines, and automation frameworks.

What You'll Do:

• Support the launch and optimization of emerging wireless technologies — including Open RAN — from a performance management perspective.
• Monitor and manage RAN performance KPIs, ensuring targets are met and continuously improved.
• Troubleshoot service degradations, perform root-cause analysis, and develop preventive measures to minimize customer impact.
• Assist client support and escalation teams on complex issues requiring RAN engineering expertise.
• Lead performance monitoring and optimization for high-demand special events (sports, concerts, festivals).
• Design and support automation initiatives to increase operational efficiency and scale optimization activities.
