Lead Device Engineer  (Bellevue, Washington)
The Select Group is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Device Engineer to join our client dynamic team in Bellevue, Washington. The Lead Device Engineer will play a pivotal role in the organization, bridging the gap between technical expertise and leadership. This position is ideal for a seasoned wireless network or device engineer with over 5 years of experience who is looking to transition into a more project management or leadership-oriented role. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, particularly in wireless networks and device testing, coupled with the ability to lead and drive teams towards successful project completion.

Lead Device Engineer Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a wireless network and/or device technical role.
  • 2+ years of experience in a lab testing environment with major US carriers or device companies, or in a software development setting.
  • High-level understanding of 4G/LTE wireless and 5G technologies, including Carrier Aggregation, VoNR, and core network functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and drive teams towards successful project completion.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately and ensure project timelines are adhered to.
  • **Bonus Skills:**Understanding of major chipset vendors and experience with test tools such as QXDM and XCAL used for troubleshooting devices and chipsets in lab environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required

Lead Device Engineer  Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects related to wireless network devices.
  • Oversee lab testing environments and collaborate with major device companies (e.g., Samsung, Motorola, Google, TCL) or major labs (e.g., Spirent, Element, Intertek).
  • Utilize a high-level understanding of 4G/LTE wireless and 5G features, including Carrier Aggregation and VoNR, to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Drive actions within our teams and coordinate with other teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and know when/how to escalate issues to senior management.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
