The Select Group is currently hiring for an Apprentice Lab Tester to join in the Telecommunications sector that will be onsite in Ashburn, VA. In this role you will be instrumental in ensuring customers enjoy a seamless, stable, and reliable home internet experience by testing the in-home equipment that customers will be utilizing daily. APPRENTICE LAB TESTER REQUIREMENTS:

• Passion for Device Technology: 
  • We are looking for people that have a passion for IT and are looking to build their career in this field 
• Basic knowledge of Networking Principles: 
  • General Network troubleshooting skills and knowledge:
  • IP and Routing basics
• Ability to set up Device Test Benches after training.
  • Take direction and notes on proper set up procedure.
  • Basic knowledge of Device Set Up
  • Understand of ethernet cables, connecting into ports on modems, routers.
• Must hold a Technology/IT/Computer Networking Degree or applicable experience

• Test enterprise level equipment for At-Home networking/home routers and extenders in a lab environment
• Set up new test configurations and customizations as the business/technical requirements ask for
• Prep test benches such as connect wires + run test scenarios that are already established as well as create new, from scratch test scenarios as the technical needs see fit
• Troubleshoot failed test scenarios by pulling logs and using creativity to solve the issue   
• Write up documentation in Jira for future references and accurately describe problems and solutions to the roadblocks at hand
